Dallas Avionics Demonstrates BlueFly® Device, Signs Distribution Agreement

Dallas Avionics announces that, following a successful demonstration of the BlueFly® detection device at the annual SAREX event in Texas, the company will be distributing the innovative search-and-rescue device, manufactured by QRC Technologies, a Parsons company.
BlueFly is a Bluetooth-detection device that can be quickly attached to a drone to detect and identify unintended, low-power Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals. It identifies the device emitting the signal and determines its location. Detectable devices include phones, AirTags and Tile devices, watches, fitness devices, medical devices, and other smart devices. In areas of thick foliage, low visibility, and tough terrain, the innovative device can help search-and-rescue teams find and rescue lost individuals or locate persons evading law enforcement.
“The BlueFly device is an incredible device that can aid law enforcement and government agencies with numerous missions by adding new capabilities that previously did not exist,” says Dallas Avionics' government agency sales executive, Cody Klaehn, a retired training lieutenant of Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Aircraft Operations Division. “At SAREX 2026, we were able to work with 335 attendees, 52 agencies, and 22 aircraft from 13 different units.”
“The possible applications for the BlueFly are amazing," Klaehn goes on. "Looking for lost hikers, conducting disaster response, enhancing border security, and even remote surveillance can be enhanced with BlueFly. This is a real game-changer. BlueFly has been deployed with drones already, and now we will be offering its capabilities to helicopter operations also.”
BlueFly will be demonstrated during the Airborne Public Safety Association’s annual APSCON convention held July 13-17 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
