Boeing’s Cold-Weather Engine Support Grows with New Deal

James Matthews, global head of Distribution Sales for Boeing Global Services, and JJ Frigge, president of Hartzell Propeller, sign a new global distribution agreement that adds more than 300 parts to Boeing Distribution's portfolio. The new agreement brings Hartzell preheat and preconditioning systems for piston engines, turbine engines, and rotorcraft into Boeing's global supply chain.

Cold weather is one of the most damaging conditions an aircraft engine faces. Preheat systems warm the engine before startup, helping oil and metal parts expand more evenly. Boeing Distribution's global network now gives operators and MRO teams a faster way to source Hartzell Preheat systems, covering a broad range of fixed-wing and rotorcraft platforms, with access to cold-weather protection that can reduce engine wear and help aircraft stay ready for flight.
