Duncan Aviation launches an exclusive customer program encouraging business aircraft operators to solidify their upgrade plans for automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) well before the Jan. 1, 2020, ADS-B mandate deadline. Using its extensive network of Avionics Satellite Shops to assist customers, Duncan Aviation has alloted two slots per satellite per month for ADS-B upgrades and will allow operators to reserve the schedule slots. Two of Duncan Aviation’s well-established satellite avionics facilities kick off the new year with new managers. Long-time manager at the Denver, CO, satellite facility, Bob Hazy, now assumes responsibility for the Duncan Aviation Sacramento and Hayward, CA, Satellite Shops. Install team lead, Wayne Sand, who has been working on avionics in the Denver, CO, area for 28 years, takes over as manager of the Denver and Broomfield Satellite Shops. 

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) joins other general aviation proponents in welcoming the announcement of a final rule overhauling the Part 23 aircraft certification process, adopting consensus-based, performance-driven standards for light GA aircraft weighing less than 12,500 pounds.

Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announces that it has been named an Advent Aircraft Systems dealer for its Advent eABSTM anti-skid braking system for the Pilatus PC-12 and Beechcraft King Air B300 and B200 aircraft.

Flightstar Corporation announces the completion of its newest facility, Hangar 10. The 31,000-square-foot aircraft maintenance hangar will serve as the primary facility of the Flightstar Airline Division.

Beechcraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, announces at the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) conference in Dubai that the company is now offering Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67A engines for improved performance on its King Air 350HW and King Air 350ER turboprops. In addition, the company is offering an increased gross weight option for these platforms, increasing the maximum takeoff weight to 17,500 pounds. Both enhancements are now FAA- and EASA-certified and offered as factory options for new aircraft or as aftermarket modifications.
