West Star Aviation Supports High Country Aviation Workshop For Kids
West Star Aviation announces its continuing support of High Country Aviation Workshop for Kids (HAWK). HAWK restored a Dakota Hawk aircraft that was flown to Oshkosh 2016.
HAWK's mission is to expose youth to aviation maintenance and flight concepts through on-hands education. West Star Aviation supports HAWK by providing financial and technical support, helping the organization reach its goals of enriching aviation education and interests in young people, as well as attending shows such as Oshkosh from its home base in Mack, CO. HAWK's instructors and volunteers are from the local EAA800 chapter and other partners.
West Star helped HAWK secure an owner-donated Piper Cherokee for its youth-training purposes and provided a KX 165A radio as well as static and transponder tests that were performed on the Cherokee aircraft used by instructors. These tests gave dual instruction to HAWK youth for their trip to and from Oshkosh 2016.
"We are proud to support an amazing organization that exposes kids to and educates them about the aviation industry," says Dave Krogman, general manager (GJT), West Star Aviation.
