Trimec Aviation to Develop Gulfstream G200 STC for Gogo Biz 4G

Gogo Business Aviation (NASDAQ: GOGO), a global provider of aircraft connectivity products and services, continues to progress toward the launch of its 4G service in the first half of 2017. Trimec Aviation, an authorized full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul Gogo dealer, is developing the STC (supplemental type certificate) for Gogo’s 4G system for Gulfstream G200 aircraft. It will also participate as a partner for hardware sales and installations on other business aircraft.

“Our team is ready to install and certify Gogo’s newest technology,” says John Holland, Avionics manager for Trimec Aviation. “Gogo Biz 4G continues to be highly anticipated by the customers we serve, and we are pleased to be able to provide our services as installation experts of Gogo’s services.”

Gogo will deliver a 4G experience with reliable connectivity for passengers over existing technologies. The new service will include both Gogo Vision, providing the latest movies and TV episodes; flight tracker; weather reports and additional features, as well as Gogo Text & Talk, allowing passengers to call and text with their personal smart phones and mobile numbers; stream video and audio; email attachments; and browse the web—all on a proven network in the continental U.S. and large portions of Alaska and Canada.

“Trimec Aviation is a valued Gogo dealer partner,” says David Salvador, vice president of aftermarket sales for Gogo. “We’re nearing the launch of Gogo Biz 4G, and Trimec Aviation’s work on the G200 is significant. We thank Trimec for developing the STC for this popular model of Gulfstream aircraft.”

Created specifically for the business aviation market, Gogo’s 4G system is a specially designed application of Gogo’s air-to-ground technology that leverages its existing ground network of more than 250 towers, fiber backhaul and technology that has already flown hundreds of thousands of hours aboard thousands of business and commercial aircraft. The 4G equipment package will incorporate dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi service and a host of other features—all from a single, lightweight box.

Gogo recently received supplemental type certification (STC) approval and Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) from the FAA for the Gogo Biz 4G system hardware and is on track to begin shipments later in the second quarter of 2017.

For those interested in upgrading to Gogo Biz 4G, upgrade programs are available for existing ATG customers. To learn more, visit https://business.gogoair.com/4g/?iesrc=ctr.
