Pro Star Aviation Obtains STC for Honeywell DLMU-W

Pro Star Aviation, with support from its in-house Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) delegation and in partnership with Honeywell Aerospace, obtains approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for multiple-use supplemental type certificate (STC) ST00383BO for installation of a Honeywell DLMU-W (wireless data LAN management unit) in support of Honeywell Primus EPIC™ avionics systems.

ST00383BO provides operators with a backwards-compatible, drop-in replacement solution for existing data management units (DMU) 2 and 3s and data LAN management units (DLMU) with the wireless data loader version, DLMU-W. The new DLMU-Ws primarily act as a data source for data-loading operations of Primus EPIC™ avionics systems, and additionally serve as a source or destination for stored data, such as navigational chart files.

Key benefits of the DLMU-W include: connectivity through a tablet device via Honeywell mobile applications; database loading via MyHDM or IDM; and maintenance downloading via MyMaintainer. These methods of connection make the updating and monitoring of airplane conditions more readily accessible and simpler to interface with while expediting the day-to-day functions of the crew.

According to Pro Star Aviation’s director of Business Development, Jeffrey Shaw, “One of the greatest advantages the DLMU-W interface provides is the ability for operators to utilize Honeywell’s MyMaintainer app to download and analyze maintenance messages, as well as manage aircraft databases.
