MRO Insider Broadens Service Types for Maintenance Requests

MRO Insider announces that its website now allows aircraft owner/operators to submit requests for 11 separate services. The website has been processing airframe, engine, paint, avionics, interior, propeller and rotor blade requests since its launch in 2017. MRO Insider has now expanded capabilities to include landing gear, wheels and brakes, component and accessory, and non-destructive testing to the list of service types available to request.

MRO Insider is a web-based tool for obtaining and submitting maintenance quote requests for corporate fixed wing or rotor craft. After completing a cost-free registration, owner/operators select an aircraft, select which of the 11 services are needed, specify a timeframe, and can send documents with their request. Upon submission, facilities subscribed to the MRO Insider network are notified of an RFQ (request for quote) and can log in to obtain the information needed to submit their quote.

Andy Nixon, Co-founder/VP of Sales, reports, “We have realized in the past year that there are owner/operators who have taken a more hands-on approach with their maintenance needs. We found there are some capabilities that users would prefer to submit for quote on their own if they are familiar with their maintenance, such as the need to have their landing gear overhauled, for example. Some operators may not know that it is necessary and rely on a maintenance facility to coordinate that service. With this release, those who are aware are able to jump on the website and submit the RFQ directly to those who can complete the work scope.”

The company also announced that it plans to add quote request services for facility profiles in 2019. “We’ve spoken to several maintenance facilities that not only submit quotes back to owner/operators, but then find themselves searching their rolodex for service providers that have capabilities they can’t manage in house – non-destructive testing being a big one”, says Nixon. “In 2019, subscribed facilities will be able to go online and submit an RFQ for these jobs. Our goal is to help them increase the scope of work they are able to bring in their hangars, knowing they have a capable supporting network on MRO Insider.”

About MROinsider.com

MROinsider.com was founded in 2016 by Lindsay and Andy Nixon to improve upon the current system of word-of-mouth referrals for aviation maintenance services. Launched at NBAA-BACE in 2017, the company added 400 corporate aircraft and over 100 maintenance locations within their first year.  The website is a free service for aircraft owner/operators to submit RFQ’s, browse facility profiles and read customer reviews. Subscribed maintenance facilities pay a flat monthly fee for their profile page and quoting ability.
