FEAM Aero Sparks Student Interest in Aircraft Maintenance Technician Careers

FEAM Aero, a provider of aircraft line-maintenance services in the United States, provides staff and students from the George T. Baker Aviation Technical College a rare glimpse at the day in the life of an aircraft maintenance technician (AMT). As the industry continues to struggle with man-power shortages, FEAM Aero is committed to narrowing the gap via various initiatives to spark interest in the career path nationwide.

Students and staff from the college were given a personalized tour of the FEAM Aero facility, as well as tours of both a 747-400 cargo and passenger aircrafts. All attendees learned first-hand about line maintenance, hangar maintenance, avionics, and more.

“The students of George T. Baker Aviation Technical College are our future AMTs,” says Cam Murphy, president of FEAM Aero. “We want to be at the forefront and offer invaluable information to them. By being able to speak with our aviation maintenance experts at FEAM, these students had the chance to gain industry knowledge outside of the classroom about a great future career.”

“This tour allowed our students to learn the realities of what it is like to get a job right out of A&P school. Having that information prior to graduation is not commonplace with most careers,” an instructor said. “FEAM Aero’s tour was by far the best one our school has ever been on.”
