Elliott Aviation Announces Mobile ADS-B Team

Elliott Aviation, an aviation services company and one of the industry’s largest avionics installers, announces the addition of a mobile ADS-B installation team. This team will be able to complete select Collins, Honeywell and Garmin ADS-B turbine aircraft installations at locations in the United States that are equipped to handle aircraft maintenance. Installations can be completed in as little as five days.

The mobile ADS-B team will be available on a first come, first served basis and will be scheduled similar to Elliott Aviation’s other MRO services. They will be able to handle all existing ADS-B solutions for turbine powered business aircraft.

The announcement follows the approval of an Elliott Aviation ADS-B STC that provides next generation Garmin GTX-3000 remote mount smart transponders for turbine-powered aircraft. The versatile GTX-3000 is certified and software configurable to replace legacy transponders like the MST-67A and TDR-94D. It also provides ADS-B IN capabilities for pilots to receive subscription-free flight information service-broadcast (FIS-B) weather information, including NEXRAD, METAR, TAF’s and NOTAMs. These can be displayed on a mobile in-cockpit device, negating the need for a cockpit display upgrade.

“There are over 160,000 aircraft that still need to be ADS-B equipped by the end of 2019,” says Conrad Theisen, director of Avionics Sales for Elliott Aviation. “We want to help aircraft operators to avoid being stuck with a grounded aircraft. Our mobile ADS-B team will make it convenient and cost-effective for aircraft operators to make sure they don’t get caught in the rush of aircraft that will need to be completed by the FAA-mandated deadline. We’re committed to helping the industry meet the deadline by not only providing STC solutions for many business aircraft, but by bringing our team to our customers.”

Elliott Aviation is a second-generation, family-owned business aviation company offering a complete menu of high quality products and services, including: aircraft sales; avionics service and installations; aircraft maintenance; accessory repair and overhaul; paint and interior; and charter and aircraft management.
