Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award Presented to Ralph Rosenbrock of HeliValue$Ralph Rosenbrock, senior technical advisor of HeliValue$, is presented with the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award, the most prestigious award presented by the Federal Aviation Administration to an aviation maintenance technician.

The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award is named in honor of Charles Taylor, the first aviation mechanic in powered flight. Taylor served as the Wright brothers' mechanic and is credited with designing and building the engine for their first successful aircraft. The award recognizes the lifetime accomplishments of senior mechanics.

Ralph Rosenbrock has had a distinguished 50-year career in aviation. While working with HeliValue$ over the past three decades as its senior technical advisor, Rosenbrock has held many important positions in the helicopter industry. Rosenbrock's lifetime career accomplishments include:

  • 1966-67 — United States Army door gunner and crew chief on a CH-47 Chinook helicopter with the 147th Assault Support Company in Vietnam
  • 1967-68 — Obtained FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate from Lewis College Technical Institute
  • 1967-75 — Lead mechanic on Component Overhaul team specializing in Bell 47, Bell 206, and Sikorsky S-58 at Chicago Helicopter Airways
  • 1975-86 — Vice president/general manager at Executive Helicopter Express, obtaining an FAA Part 133, 135, and 137 operating certificate and FAA approval for maintenance program derived from using MSG-3 logic, the first-ever application of this system to helicopters
  • 1986-89 — Vice president of Safety at Rotorcraft Association of North America, implementing risk management programs for all association members
  • 1992-present — Manager of Aviation Services at NiSource Inc.
