Constant Aviation Completes Second 750-Hour Check on Legacy 500

Constant Aviation, offering full-service maintenance, repair, and overhaul with a nationwide network, announces that it just completed its second 750-hour inspection of an Embraer Legacy 500 aircraft at its Cleveland MRO facility, with a third scheduled later this month.

Embraer’s Legacy 500 is a midsize business jet that won best-in-class clean-sheet design and was noted as the first of its class to utilize intelligent flight controls. Most notably, the aircraft is the first midsize jet to employ full fly-by-wire technology. With close to 40 Legacy 500s in operation, the fleet is entering its first 750 hours of operation, qualifying the aircraft for its first round of mandated inspections.

The check consists of 35 tasks, as well as a routine engine inspection, and was led by Constant’s Legacy Program manager, Jim Rady. Rady has 40 years of experience in the aviation industry and has been involved in a myriad of projects on the Embraer line, including four Legacy 600 wing changes, as well as the first-ever Phenom 300 wing change. Dave Bowman, vice president of Operations noted, “Our longstanding 18-year relationship with Embraer as an authorized service center, coupled with Jim Rady’s notable experience, continues to position Constant Aviation to be a leading MRO on the support of the Embraer platforms. We have achieved extensive milestones on the Legacy 600 platform, as to-date we have executed over 101 48-month inspections; 32 72-month inspections; 37 96-month inspections; 14 144-month inspections; and four landing gear overhauls, with 1.3 million hours of experience.

"Over the years, we have continued to expand on our Embraer offerings by systematically expanding additional airframe capabilities as it became necessary. We are truly committed to our partnership with Embraer, and the measures we have taken to nurture and preserve that commitment—airframe-specific schooling for our technicians, securing over $500,000 in specialized tooling—are definitely a testament to that.”
