AviationManuals Acquires Maximum Manuals to Expand into Aircraft Minimum Equipment Lists
AviationManuals, a provider of aircraft operations manuals and safety management system (SMS) software, acquires Maximum Manuals LLC of Carlsbad, CA.
The acquisition allows AviationManuals to expand its product line to create tailored minimum equipment lists (MELs) and provide electronic flight bag (EFB) application packages for aircraft operators, according to company chief executive officer Mark Baier. "Our companies complement each other perfectly. We have already begun to deliver these new offerings, and our clients are thrilled since many had already been asking about MELs in particular," Baier says.
"Maximum Manuals fit our growth strategy nicely, since it includes acquiring companies that perform complimentary industry activities—in this case both software and manuals for aircraft operator support," he adds. "Through the acquisition, AviationManuals gained several hundred aircraft operator and owner customers as well as an excellent custom software application that aids in the development of manuals online."
Maximum Manuals was purchased from co-owners Aaron and Caterina Taylor. Their operations were integrated into AviationManuals operations near Washington, D.C., with minimal staff growth to accommodate the increased business base. The Maximum Manuals team remains active in other aspects of the aviation industry and will provide ongoing support to AviationManuals.
"We had been working with AviationManuals for several years, and when we finally became open to the idea of selling our business, we knew that AviationManuals was the perfect partner to entrust our clientele and business to," says Aaron Taylor.
"We pioneered the delivery of automated manuals to operators. Combining Maximum Manuals technology with AviationManuals reputation and experience will be a winning combination," adds Caterina.
Maximum Manuals designs each MEL specifically for particular aircraft, fleet and company applications. Documents are created for flight departments across the U.S. and approved by their FAA Flight Standard District Offices (FSDOs).
The final product is a thorough, complete document with language reviewed by a variety of FAA offices. For more info go to www.maxmanuals.com.
