Associated Air Center Redelivers 737-500 Classic Custom Cabin Completion

Associated Air Center (AAC), StandardAero's large transport category completions center, redelivers a custom cabin installation for a U.S.-based, VIP-configured 737-500 “Classic” aircraft customer.

The program and installation entailed removing a custom cabin from a 737-200 donor aircraft, including interface between the two airframes to address the differences between aircraft models, while the custom cabin installation included a new executive lavatory fabricated by AAC technicians.

Downtime included scheduled maintenance plus Corrosion Protection and Control Programs (CPCP) inspections, gear and flap overhauls, and flight control removal and reinstallation to restore paint finish. The program was completed in only four months at AAC’s facility in Dallas, TX.

“Our customer came to us with a very unusual and challenging request to combine interior assets from two different airplane models,” says Tony Brancato, president of AAC.  “After carefully listening and fully utilizing our unique engineering capabilities, we successfully designed around existing cabin interfaces to provide a new and cost-effective interior, while minimizing aircraft downtime.”

AAC's new program gives operators an additional solution and more options in outfitting custom aircraft cabins.

AAC provides world-class program management and ODA-certification authority to keep airplane programs on schedule and provides industry-leading experience and warranty support after delivery.  The company's vertically-integrated, state-of-the-art facility employs the most advanced engineering in the industry along with operational excellence and superior customer service from start to finish.
