Vector Aerospace and Air Niugini Limited Sign Three-Year Engine Maintenance Agreement

Vector Aerospace Corporation, a global independent provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, announces that Vector Aerospace Engine Services - Atlantic Inc. (ES-A) and Air Niugini Limited, based at Jacksons International Airport, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea have signed a three-year agreement for an engine maintenance program.

As per the terms of the three-year exclusive agreement, ES-A provides comprehensive fixed-wing aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul services to Air Niugini Limited’s fleet of PW123D/E powered Bombardier DHC-8-Q315/202 from its facilities in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada and Brisbane, Australia.

“Air Niugini Limited operates throughout Papua New Guinea and the greater Pacific region as an airline providing many services including scheduled transportation of domestic and international passengers, carriage of freight (both dedicated and as part of its scheduled passenger service) and ad hoc and regular aviation charter,” says Simon Foo CBE, chief executive officer of Air Niugini Limited. “We currently operate a fleet of 27 aircraft so the decision to switch engine services providers was not taken lightly. After much deliberation, we felt extremely confident that ES-A would be our best choice in providing the engine support and service we need to ensure that we enhance our level of customer service and improve our competiveness.”

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to pursue our relationship with Air Nuigini Limited through a complete engine maintenance program,” says Jeff Poirier, president of ES-A. “We are delighted to support Air Nuigini Limited with a program that provides them with a fixed-wing engine maintenance service over an extended period of time. Through this program, we are confident that our proven repair and overhaul practices will provide great support and value to Air Nuigini Limited and its customers.”

Vector Aerospace holds approvals from some of the world’s leading turbine engine, airframe and avionics OEMs. Engine products supported include a wide range of General Electric, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Rolls-Royce and Turbomeca, (all engine lines including complete test capability).
