Flight Display Systems Announces New In-Flight Entertainment Products with FAA Approval

Flight Display Systems announces several new products that have received FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval. These products will be integral in Select CMS Platinum, the Cabin Management System from Flight Display Systems. The key component that resellers have been requesting is its Slot-Load Blu-ray player.

“Many of our customers have been waiting for approval for the new Blu-Ray player,” says David Gray, president of Flight Display Systems, “We’re glad to be able to provide it, and all the other fantastic products.”

Products that have received approval are:

Slot-Load Blu-ray Player (FD932DVD-BLU-2) — The FD932DVD-BLU-2 player provides the flexibility to watch movies in DVD or Blu-ray HD format up to 1080P/60Hz.

22” Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDSDI (FD220CV Ver HDSDI-CAN) -- The FD220CV is a 1080p, 22” High-Definition Widescreen LCD which has features that allow installation in the smallest of mounting areas with the minimum of interface equipment.

14” LCD Monitor (FD141CV Ver HDSDI-CAN) — The FD141CV is a 14.1” LCD which has features that allow installation in the smallest of mounting areas with the minimum of interface equipment.

SDI Video Crosspoint Switch (FDSDIVCS-12-16) — The FDSDIVCS-12-16 is a 12-input HD-SDI video crosspoint switch. This hardware device simplifies video wiring by using 75 ohm coax to transmit HD video to onboard displays.

HDMI Input to SDI Output (FDHDMI-SDI) — The FDHDMI-SDI receives HDMI input from a computer or Blu-ray player and converts it to an HD-SDI signal. The converted HD-SDI signal can be interfaced to Flight Dispay Systems HD-SDI cabin management switching units or monitors.

Composite to HDSDI Converter (FDCOMP-SDI) — The FDCOMP-SDI converter receives a single composite input and converts it to a HD-SDI output. The converter provides the ability to interface video from DVD players, TV receivers, or iPad/iPods to HD-SDI switches or displays.

3” Cabin Control Modules (FDCCM30, FDCCM30-D) — The FDCCM30 consists of a 3” color, high resolution liquid crystal display with a touchscreen overlay. The unit is available with and without an audio headphone jack.

3 Button Cabin Control Module (FDCCM3-D) — The FDCCM3 is a three OLED display with overlaying mechanical feather-touch buttons and two menu navigation buttons. It controls the reading light, the table light, window shades, and the entertainment audio and video for that one seat.

2 Button Cabin Control Module (FDCCM2-D) — The FDCCM2 is a two OLED display with overlaying mechanical feather-touch buttons and two menu navigation buttons. It controls the reading light, the table light, window shades, and the entertainment audio and video for that one seat.

7” Cabin Control Module (FDCCM7) — The Cabin Control Module 7 is a 7-inch color touchscreen. It has switching inputs and outputs primarily used to control items that are close to the display control module. Functionality and menu design are both highly configurable.

Motorized Temperature Control (FDTMPCTL)

Media Player with Quick Release (FDMEDPLR-3QR) — The adapter is designed to mount inside of a side wall or under a drink rail with the quick release receptacle panel mounted in a convenient location to connect the removable cable. The unit outputs both audio and video for use with the aircrafts entertainment system.

Media Player iPod® Cable Quick Release (FDMEDPLR-CBL) — FDMEDPLR-CBL is a 60-inch cable that connects between the quick release receptacle and to the iPod. The FDMEDPLR-CBL may be removed and stowed in a drink rail tray or side wall compartment.
