ELLIOTT AVIATION CERTIFIES STC FOR MID-CONTINENT’S MD302 STANDBY ATTITUDE MODULE
Elliott Aviation announces the FAA has certified the supplemental type certificate (STC) for Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics’ MD302 Standby Attitude Module (SAM®) as part of its Garmin G1000 avionics upgrade in King Air aircraft.
The MD302 provides attitude, altitude, airspeed and slip information to the pilot during normal operation or in the case of primary instrument failure, enhancing system reliability and reducing pilot workload. The compact, self-contained, solid-state instrument fits in less panel space than a standard set of 2-inch mechanical attitude, altitude, and airspeed indicators. The MD302 will be standard in all of Elliott Aviation’s future Garmin G1000 installations.
Elliott Aviation has completed a total of 110 Garmin G1000 retrofit installations in King Air C90A/B/GT, 200/B200 and 300/350 aircraft to date, and its Moline, IL. (MLI) and Des Moines, IA (DSM) facilities rank first and second respectively, for G1000 installations in King Airs.
“As leaders in Garmin G1000 King Air retrofits, we are proud to offer yet another first for King Air operators with the addition of a more reliable standby instrument,” says Mark Wilken, Director of Avionics Sales for Elliott Aviation. “Mid-Continent’s MD302, or SAM, gives pilots an excellent alternative to older, less reliable standby technology.”
Elliott Aviation is a King Air authorized service center and has been maintaining King Airs for nearly 50 years.
