Don’t Give Up the Fight

Joe,

Your editorial column in the Jan/Feb issue was the first column I have read from you that I had an overwhelming feeling of disappointment. I’m in my 36th year of being

actively engaged in aviation, and I agree with you fully about the “advanced certification” feeling I have for my IA. I am also one of the 83 individuals who have commented to the FAA on NPRM 2010-1060.

My disappointment lies in the feeling that you have given up the fight already.

I am 57 years old, college educated, Master Training Specialist certified, etc….etc….etc, and don’t need another certification (government or civil) program to become “engaged.” I have an IA that I worked and trained very hard for, to be “engaged.”

If the FAA wants to get rid of the “800 pound gorilla” use attrition, not removal, for the Inspection Authorization.

Very respectfully,

Paul J. Waeghe, Jr., IA, FET, SEL
