David Thissell Earns Charles Taylor Award

Dave Thissell of Plymouth, MA has received the prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award adding his name to the FAA’s Roll of Honor. Thissell, a graduate of East Coast Aero Tech, began his aviation career in 1962 for Hinson Aviation in Baltimore, MD, where he also served as a mechanic for the 135 Air Commando Group of the Maryland Air National Guard. After a few short years Thissell moved to Plymouth where he has been for more than 40 years. He has worked for several companies in his career including New England Aero Services (23 yrs) and was the owner of Northeast Aircraft Maintenance (15 years). Additionally, he served as a mechanic in the 102 Tactical Fighter Wing for the Massachusetts Air National Guard (19767-1970), is also an IA and is a certified Private Pilot with Multiengine and Instrument ratings. This is not the first time Thissell has been honored for his achievements. He was chosen as the Boston FSDO Maintenance technician of the Year in 1995. Dave is well known for his professionalism, skill, and aviation expertise and his dedication to the aviation maintenance field.

Thissell currently splits his time working for Pro Airways, LLC/Professional Pilots Aircraft Maintenance and performing Annual inspections at his hangar in KPYM.
