BAKER AVIATION INTRODUCES NEW SIZE HOT-STOP® ‘L’ FIRE CONTAINMENT BAG FOR LARGER DEVICES

Baker Aviation, a full service aircraft maintenance, management and charter company in North Texas, and the exclusive distributor for the HOT-STOP® ‘L’ Fire Containment Bag product line, has introduced a new oversized bag to accommodate larger laptop computers.

Thomas Connolly, president of Industrial Energy Products (IEP), the manufacturer of the HOT-STOP bags states, “We have an increasing number of flight departments implementing our bags as part of their SMS program and we are always open to developing new solutions for our customers. As a result, we are adding the larger bag to the product line to serve the client demand.”

The new 25” wide HOT-STOP ‘L’ bag is Made in the USA and will accommodate up to a 19” x 14” x 2” battery powered device and is the safest and easiest way to prepare for the possibility of fire incidents with mobile devices, while in the air.

“From this point forward our off-the-shelf safety solution provides peace of mind to everyone on board the aircraft, including passengers traveling with larger laptops or the latest all-in-one computers,” comments Ray Goyco, Jr, president and COO for Baker Aviation. “As mobile technology has advanced since the HOT-STOP bag was introduced in 2008, we continue to accommodate these new devices so today’s leading flight operations can fly with confidence,” added Goyco.

The HOT-STOP® ‘L’ Fire Containment Bag safely contains fires, explosions and smoke emissions from Lithium Ion powered devices as well as any combustible item aboard an aircraft, without the aid of a water supply. These distinctive HOT-STOP ‘L’ bags have been successfully tested twice in live fire evaluations at the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and further independently fire tested by flight departments. This fire containment bag is different from alternative products on the market and can be used to store a laptop, tablet, or smart phone when not in use, contain an overheating device without destruction, or contain one, including a waterproof device, that is in full thermal runaway.

The HOT-STOP® line of fire containment bags are now available in four sizes; small for smart phones, medium for passenger or flight deck tablets, large for standard laptop computers and the new oversized for large laptops. Tailored defibrillator device covers are also available to safely contain these on-board lithium ion battery powered devices.

Recently, Baker Aviation announced a surrender rebate program for other competing bags. Baker offers a $100 discount when customers surrender any other fire containment brand of bag at time of purchase of a new, proven and tested HOT-STOP ‘L’ lithium ion fire containment bag. As a commitment to their HOT-STOP ‘L’ bag customers, last year, Baker Aviation announced the replacement, free of charge, of any of HOT-STOP ‘L’ bag that has been deployed to contain thermal runaway of lithium ion powered devices, aboard an aircraft.
