ExxonMobil announces that Mobil Jet Oil 387, a synthetic, high performance capability, turbine-engine oil, has been approved by GE Aviation for use in its CF6 engines, which includes the CF6-6, CF6-50, CF6-80E and CF6-80C2 commercial, as well as L1F and K1F military variants.

As I chat with directors of maintenance, I always like to ask what they look for in new employees. Just about every one of them says that having a positive attitude is at the top of the list. Technical knowledge can be taught, but if someone has a bad attitude, he or she makes life hard for the whole team.

Aero Star Aviation announces that it has received FAA Part 145 repair station certification for its Dallas Love Field (DAL) location.

Garmin announces it has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval of the G5000 integrated flight deck for the Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP aircraft. The G5000 modernizes the cockpit, increases aircraft utility, offers significant weight savings and provides operators with a solution to fulfill global next generation airspace initiatives. Garmin also announces that SUN-AIR airlines of Scandinavia has selected the G5000 integrated flight deck upgrade for its Beechjet 400A aircraft. SUN-AIR Technic, the maintenance division of SUN-AIR, is also an authorized Garmin dealer and will be completing the first installation of the Beechjet G5000 upgrade in Europe.
