Tooling Fabricator - Pinellas Park, FL
Position: Tooling FabricatorLocation: Pinellas Park, FLPay: $21.00 per hour / $31.50 OTShift: Mon-Thurs, 10hr days, Fri. off / 6:00am to 4:30pm.Length of Contract: 12 months or longer.Overview:• Lays out, fabricates, and assembles metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications. • Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments. • Computes dimensions; determines machining and material or parts required. • May perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solve problems relating to unusual materials, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process. • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. • Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, small mills, drills or saws. • May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. • Some machines may be numerically controlled. • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. • Paints and properly identifies and codes tooling.• Improvises shop aids to facilitate completion of work assignments. • Performs disassembly and cleaning of tooling. • Checks tools for wear, damage, etc., and replaces defective or worn components such as bushings, shims, clamps and pins, and reassembles same. • Helps to maintain work area and machinery in a clean and orderly condition.
Education/Certification Requirements:• Plastic Tooling and AutoCAD/SolidWorks experience is required.• Some knowledge of CNC equipment is required.• C-130, F-16, P-3, F-35 tooling experience - Must have experience in one or more.• Ability to use optical transits and levels. • Aircraft manufacturing experience with tooling background will be highly considered. • Knowledge of master models, tooling gages, sample parts, formed router tools, robotic tooling, fiberglass tooling, developed layout templates and hydro form blocks.
