GENERAL DESCRIPTION:System technician on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). DUTIES This person performs a combination of such typical duties as: Performs simple routine tasks under observation and from documentation Assembles and installs equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting Responsible for running and assisting in the maintaining of ATE and associated components. Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting electronic circuit cards, assemblies, and cables down to the component level. Perform simple or routine tasks or tests and capable of using and adjusting simple test equipment and recording test data. Performs limited functional checks on existing and newly installed circuit cards. Operates automatic test equipment to locate and assist in the diagnoses of defective parts. Performs routine inspections on systems and equipment. Operates standard electronic test equipment, i.e. Digital Oscilloscope, multi-meters, Function Generators, Data Recording Software, etc... Provide information for writing technical evaluations on components returned from customer. Utilizes instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job including Technical Manuals, product bulletins, and other approved technical documentation. Other duties as assigned, i.e. minor cable and circuit card repair, circuit card evaluation utilizing dedicated diagnostic software and gold standard components and test equipment. Assist in shipping and receiving components for repair or replacement utilizing standardized processes and procedures


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMinimum High School Graduate. 2 years' of experience in the field or in a related area. General knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Creative mind to troubleshoot, find, and resolve problems. Self-motivated and works with daily supervision Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the electronics industry. Experience with Automated Test Stations (ATS) (VDATS, ADTS, CASS, etc.) is highly desired PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, OTHER To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. May be required to hand solder components and fabricate cable assemblies. May be required to lift up to 40 pounds and carry for short distances. Normally works in an office setting with controlled temperature.
