Basic Function Summary:Provides line services in support of scheduled flight operations. These services include inspection, servicing, cleaning, launching, and recovery of aircraft. Will be required to operate self-propelled ground equipment during daily routine. Services are primarily performed outside. Must complete training program and be certified in writing as a plane captain.

Job Responsibilities: The position of ldquo;Aircraft Mechanicrdquo; requires the following:

Aircraft Mechanics/ Technicians inspect, diagnose, repair and monitor aircraft and aircraft systems such as structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, engines, power, and electrical/ electronic systems and components as assigned to work centers.

Provides daily oversight of all functional and operational activities in maintenance control of aircraft, and assists the Senior Maintenance Manager with daily operations. The maintenance controller assists in the operations of the maintenance departments per the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2B CH-1. Defines and assigns responsibilities by shift, functions, and operations per directives.

SUMMARY The incumbent is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Communicates with original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and technicians; interacts with government representatives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTHE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BU ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING DUTIES.

An Aircraft Mechanic III ndash; Mechanic Performing repairs, modifications, and installations on T-1A and C-12 aircraft. Ability to troubleshoot, rig, and operational check/test engines: PW PT6A-41, PT6A-42, PT6A-60 PT6A-65 turboprops, as well as JT15D-5 jet engines. Operates ground support equipment and flight line vehicles.
