Located in Kinston NC Currently seeking 1 A&P mechanic for their Kinston, NC facility. The position is open because a former contractor significantly damaged the panels on one of the aircraft. The aircraft MAC supports for Fedex are ATR-42's and ATR-72's (cargo carriers). Job responsibilities include: Responsible for inspection, troubleshooting and repair of aircraft to meet company, FAA and customer standards. Ensure that aircraft is airworthy and ready to meet dispatch schedule. This includes: #8226; Maintain parts inventory in accordance with parts department procedures. #8226;Insure that all parts are properly tagged and processed for repairs. #8226;Coordinate with Maintenance Control to ensure that all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. #8226;Ensure the safeguarding of company assets (e.g. parts, aircraft, etc.) #8226;Check all mechanical components prior to installation to prevent damage. #8226;Comply with all airport security rules. #8226;Ability to operate all required ground support equipment. Work Environment:One large hangar at the Kinston Regional Jetport that can hold up to 4 ATR. Typically the crew of 33 mechanics only works on 2-3 at a time. Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm; working overtime on a voluntary basis. M- F 3:00PM- 11:30PM second shift. MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK BOTH. Usually the contractor will start on second in the beginning. Qualifications:A&P license (Ideal but will take individuals with just A Licensce) High school diploma or equivalent Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: #8226;Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. #8226;Thorough working knowl Performance Expectations:Test the job description: Mechanics can come from right out of A&P school or from a military background. First Day Responsibilities: Need to have knowledge of all aircraft mechanical system functions, FAA regulations, installing and rigging aircraft flight control systems Best vs. Average: Best candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, prior experience working hangar maintenance on aircraft and a strong work ethic. Ideal candidate has previous experience in the military. Perf Metrics: No formal performance evaluation. Manager evaluates mechanic on their pace, willing to help out around the hangar when things get slow and work ethic. Disqualifies: no A&P Interview Information:Phone interview with the Hangar Maintenance manager: Gregory Kirian and Floor Manager: Gary Pence Short 15 min phone screen. Want to hear that the individual is passionate about the industry. Additional Compensation:Additional Information:Must provide A&P Tools (tools don't have to be etched or shadowed) This position is starting on a 2nd shift!
