Aircraft Mechanic Be a Part of the Future#8230;.National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), a prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration, has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic to serve as an Aviation Mechanic based at Joint Base Andrews, MD, under the direct supervision of the Aviation Maintenance Site Lead.Work location is at the Remote Sensing Laboratory at Andrews Air Force Base, MD. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.No dual citizens. The qualified candidate will plan and assist maintenance personnel in the safe and efficient completion of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and servicing activities on US Department of Energy Aircraft (Beechcraft King Air B200 and Bell 412 Helicopter) operated by NSTec; coordinate with and assist technicians and maintenance personnel in the development, integration, installation and removal of mission equipment in the aircraft; work with material personnel to facilitate the timely requisitioning of all parts, materials and equipment needed to complete aircraft maintenance; assure that aircraft are maintained in accordance with latest revision of the manufacturer's instructions, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and the NSTec RSL Aviation Operations Manual and operate and maintain ground support equipment.NSTec offers a competitive salary and benefits package such as:• Three weeks of paid time off per year• 80 hours of paid holidays per year• Group insurance (health/dental/vision)• Basic life insurance (1.5 times of annual salary)• Short and Longterm disability insurance• 401(k) Thrift Plan (100% vested after three years)• Retirement Plan (100% vested after five years)• Relocation assistance from originating cityIf your qualifications match our requirements, e-mail your resume to, reference ad#87-17. Required skills and qualifications: The qualified candidate should possess an Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance or equivalent training and experience plus 8 years#8217; of progressive experience or High School diploma or equivalent training and experience plus 10 years#8217; of progressive related experience as a mechanic maintaining turbine powered helicopters. Possess an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate;proficient at troubleshooting and diagnosing aircraft airframe, engine, and electrical systems; working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 91, 65, 43, and 21; effective oral, written, and electronic communication skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic manufacturer's maintenance libraries; participate in the Deployment Authorization Program (DAP) and be able to travel and work nonstandard hours and deploy on domestic and overseas missions on short notice on company or commercial aircraft or by ground vehicle; capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.; occasional overtime, weekend work, and travel may be required.Desired experiences: Bell-412/212 helicopter, Beechcraft B-200 airplane, Pratt and Whitney PT6 Series Engines and FAA Inspection Authorization
