Gradient Lens Releases New Hawkeye Pro Flexible Borescope
Rochester, N.Y., March 1, 2009–Fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter maintenance personnel now have a fast, affordable way to insure flight safety with the newly expanded line of Hawkeye Pro Flexible Borescopes from Gradient Lens Corporation (GLC). Priced less than $6000, a cost of around half that of comparable instruments, Pro Flexible borescopes provide fast, reliable, visual inspection of combustion chambers, turbine blades, airframe assemblies, and many more mission-critical parts and systems.
The new 3.3 and 4.0 mm diameters, now join the 5 mm Hawkeye Pro Flexible borescope in offering several key features:
High-resolution, 18,000 fiber, acid-leached, optical-glass imaging bundles that produce high-quality images and give the scope flexibility to reach into twisting, narrow paths. The fiber bundles are engineered to reduce crosstalk between the fibers and increase image contrast.
Two-way articulation, allowing the user to control the direction-of-view of the viewing tip over a 240° range.
“These new Hawkeye Pro Flexible Borescopes represent an unprecedented combination of quality and value,” said Dr. Douglas S. Kindred, GLC’s president.
“Users typically expect to pay nearly twice as much for this level of image quality in an articulating, flexible scope. Now that we offer 3 different diameters, this opens the door to much more regular, and much less expensive and time consuming, visual inspection for many more FBO’s and repairs stations.”
